Portside Technology expands Charleston County operations

Portside Technology, an information technology (IT) services company, today announced it is expanding its Charleston County operations. The company’s continued local investments, partnered with its historical and continued merger and acquisitions strategy, will create 89 new jobs.

Founded in Charleston in 2020, Portside Technology provides professional IT services and technology infrastructure to small and midsize businesses in the Charleston area and beyond. The company offers a holistic approach to technology solutions with services ranging from design and procurement to installation and ongoing support.

Portside Technology recently expanded into two large office spaces across the second and fifth floors in the Charleston Tech Center located at 997 Morrison Drive, Charleston.

Founded in Charleston in 2018, Allegiance Flag Supply produces high-quality, hand-sewn flags using locally sourced materials. The company makes over 1,000 American flags daily and distributes to customers in all 50 states.

Allegiance Flag Supply recently expanded into a new 24,000-square-foot building at 7600 Southrail Road in North Charleston. The facility will house all the company’s manufacturing and distribution operations.

Gnosis Freight, a leading provider of supply chain and logistics software, today announced it is expanding its operations in Charleston County. The company’s $438,500 investment will create 51 new jobs over the next several years.

Founded in Charleston in 2017, the company’s Container Lifecycle Management platform combines supply chain visibility and execution software to help companies track and manage shipping containers from booking through empty return.

The company recently doubled its existing facility in the Charleston Tech Center located at 997 Morrison Drive in Charleston. The 7,000-square-foot office space offers additional room for the company to grow its data science, software engineering and commercial teams.

MOONDOG Animation Studio grows South Carolina footprint with expansion in Charleston County

MOONDOG Animation Studio (MOONDOG), an animation and immersive experiences company, today
announced it is growing its South Carolina footprint with an expansion in Charleston County. The company’s
$90,000 investment will create 20 new jobs in five years.

Since establishing its Charleston County operations in 2013, MOONDOG has worked with clients to bring
ideas to life through services such as story development, character design, animation, augmented and virtual
reality experiences, and interactive content creation.

MOONDOG moved to a larger office in the Harbor Entrepreneur Center (HEC) and will add to the company’s
in-person team. This new space, located at 11 Ewall St. in Mount Pleasant, serves as the hub for
MOONDOG’s animation activities and interactive experiences, including the development of feature films, TV
series and immersive multimedia content.

IronLink Logistics grows East Coast presence with new operation in Charleston County

IronLink Logistics (IronLink), a logistics service company, today announced it is growing its East Coast presence by establishing operations in Charleston County. The $16.45 million investment will create 250 new jobs.

IronLink, a leading third-party logistics (3PL) provider, offers a comprehensive range of transportation, warehousing, and distribution services to a diverse customer base of industries and product sectors. The company handles various aspects of the supply chain, including inventory management, order fulfillment, and freight transportation from port and outbound freight worldwide.

The company has three West Coast facilities in California – two in Ontario and one in Chino. The new 340,000-square-foot building located at 6880 Weber Blvd. in Ladson gives IronLink a Southeast presence. The other East Coast operations are in Florence and Burlington, New Jersey.

Carpenters Woodworks and Restoration expands in Charleston County

Carpenters Woodworks and Restoration, a family-owned business specializing in custom woodworking and restoration, today announced an expansion of its operation in Charleston County. The $1.54 million investment will create 20 new jobs.

An architectural millworks company, Carpenters Woodworks and Restoration works on remodeling projects while also designing and building custom cabinets and heirloom furniture. The company is expanding its woodworking shop by moving to a more than 16,000-square-foot facility located at 10125 N. Highway 17 in McClellanville.

QuicksortRx grows corporate headquarters with expansion in Charleston County

QuicksortRx, a software-enabled service company that provides pharmacy supply chain management solutions for health systems, today announced it will grow its corporate headquarters with an expansion in Charleston County. The $220,000 investment will create 41 new jobs over the next three years.

Initially created at the Medical University of South Carolina, QuicksortRx helps health systems streamline pharmaceutical market analysis to reduce the cost of quality healthcare. The platform unifies purchase, cost and compliance information to simplify supply chain management and ensure hospitals secure medications at the best price.

The company is moving from its current location at the Charleston Tech Center to a larger, 4,000-square-foot facility at 2 Cumberland St. in Charleston. The new facility will accommodate employee growth and allow QuicksortRx to host on-site conferences for customers.

Frampton Construction grows regional headquarters with Charleston County expansion

Frampton Construction, a full-service construction firm, today announced it is growing its regional headquarters with an expansion in Charleston County. The $12.9 million investment will create 69 new jobs.

Founded in 1993, Frampton Construction offers planning and design support as well as preconstruction and construction services for the commercial, industrial and manufacturing market sectors. The company is enlarging its manufacturing business unit and expanding the support staff dedicated to growing and developing Frampton team members.

Wanting to remain in Ladson but needing more space, Frampton Construction purchased land and built a 40,000-square-foot facility which is located at 9705 Highway 78, Suite 105, in Ladson. The company also has offices in Charlotte, North Carolina and Tampa, Florida.
