Carver Companies expanding its Charleston County operations

Carver Companies, a diversified group of manufacturing and construction companies, will be expanding its Charleston County operations. Located in North Charleston, S.C., the expansion is expected to bring $13 million of new capital investment and lead to the creation of 22 new jobs.

Founded in 1989, Carver Construction was the first in the family of Carver Companies, originating as a single crew digging small projects and expanding to offer a variety of developmental site work. Carver Companies also includes Canaday Sweepers Property Management, Carver Sand and Gravel, Coeymans Industrial Park, Port of Coeymans and Coeymans Marine Towing (CMT), all of which are based in New York. Through CMT, the company owns and operates eight tug boats and 30 barges, which are used to service clients’ needs.

Located on the former U.S. Naval Base at 1210 Truxtun Avenue in North Charleston, S.C., the company has already begun pier dredging and building renovations. Hiring for the new positions is underway, and interested applicants should visit the company’s careers page online.
